I have a feeling we may see a let down against the Peg. I hope not, but they have a habit of doing so.

Have to overcome our fears of those in the Southeast division and hope that the Leafs do something against the Rangers. That will be defining for us. Obviously the Sabres can only control their games, but they definitely need some help from some unlikely places.

I wouldn't be worried about the Rangers. They're gonna get in. New Jersey looks like they're done without Kovalchuk. It's the Islanders your chasing, if they were to win 4 of their 9 games. That puts them at 48,49 or 50 points depending on if they have ot losses.

They have the tiebreaker. So at 49 points, you would have to win 6 of your 9 games and hit 50.

Islanders finish the year with a tough 5 game road trip ending with a game in Buffalo. Could be a crazy finish if you get your poop done.

Well, the great thing about the NHL is that anything is possible. The Rangers could tank. Tavares seems to be Kryptonite for Miller at times. We can't bank on any tie-breakers like you said. Even if we win out (which is unlikely at best), we still wouldn't catch any breaks. It's all a matter of being positive and hopeful. That's what the NHL is all about anyway. Anything is truly possible.

For sure. But playing percentages, it seems like the Rangers already went through their funk and they should end up playing good hockey the rest of the way and getting in. Ottawa is floundering too, I can see the Rags in 6th or even passing the Leafs at 5th. Pretty much depends on this home and home coming up.

You guys only have 3 losses to burn. and only 3 road games left against Winnipeg,Boston and Pittsburgh. Going to have to put home ice on your backs.

I still feel like you guys had a glorious shot at McKinnon or Drouin and youre blowing it but from what I heard, youre almost getting a 'can't miss' in the top 15 this year.

Have we not learned anything from the past few seasons? nothing will get better if we keep shooting for 8th place

I think getting this young team playing the right way with the right attitude will do far more good than tanking for a draft position that is not guaranteed.

Kevin as you stated in paragraph two. There has been effort and the crowd has responded the last few. On the opposite side without saying they deserved the silent treatment most of the season, They played lazy uninspired hockey and got what they deserved. The crowd wants to back this team but we need effort from them not just the last 10 minutes or games. I think they will get close, get people sucked in then just bomb out.

Look at the top scorers in the league and where they were drafted. The Bills are the same way. keep striving just to be average and you will remain average.

Just to add to your point.. Big name free agents are not coming here. This is not hockey heaven. If we want a superstar the only way is through the draft

I wont disagree that a top flight center drafted in 1st or second is the key to a stanley cup. I Think the last 10 Cup winners had drafted their #1 center (The only exception was Bruins but they didn't necessarily have a #1 Center)

I just don't think tanking this season with all of this young talent already is the best course of action. Hodgson wasn't drafted by us but he is a young talented first line center, who fits the "draft that guy" mold. If Myers would stop acting like a new fawn on skates we would be farthur ahead than we are.

I really can't wait to see if Vanek can be a productive part of theis 'new look' team.

If the goal is the Stanley Cup then why is the team still winning games? If you have to have top end talent and to get that talent you need to finish with a top 5 pick why is the GM letting this happen? He should have traded all the veterans and called up the worst players on the Amerks. Winning any more games will do nothing but blow a top draft pick chance.

The thing that i'm sure 100% would agree with me on. You cannot win the Stanley cup if you do not make it into the playoffs.

Maybe they have a poster of Darcy and every win they get to pull a piece of his clothing off like in Major League?
